The Pai Lennart Schmidt Fund (FPLS) supports inter-culturally oriented projects aimed at enhancing tolerance and mutual understanding between adolescents. It pays particular attention to sustainable inter-conmmunity approaches and initatives which are either innovative or aim at broader replication. FPLS focuses mainly on the region of Brussels, but does not exclude projects with a broader geographical remit. As a rule, FPLS calls for the submission of project proposals on a bi-annual basis. Available funding amounts to at least € 7000 Euros per biannium. In addition, projects of particular interest can also be supported on an ad-hoc basis. Tendering and financial management of the FPLS is delegated to and organised by the King-Baudouin-Foundation (KBF) which administers the Fund. In line with the statute of King Baudouin Foundation, the Fund Pai Lennart Schmidt disposes of financial means not less than € 70.000 Euros. KBF invests the capital accumulated. FPLS uses the returns on investment to support projects in line with the orientations of the Fund. Donations provide an additional source of income for FPLS. Donations are tax-deductible. Donors receive a donation certificate of the King Baudouin Foundation.
