Ensemble pour la tolérance - Administration communale de Bernissart

The Commune of Bernissart in Wallonia more than 30 different nationalities are living. The Fund supported the Commune to bring together young people of different cultures and convictions to better live together on the local level, to fix common objectives and to demonstrate that the coexistence and living of differences is possible. The city worked with a group of young people around the topics of tolerance, also in the light of dramatic events in Syria or the Jewish museum in Brussels. More than eight meetings with young people took place in 2015 in the public library in Blaton.

Basketball Camp for interreligious action and dialogue - Serve the City

The Fund supported the 10th annual Big Volunteer Week of Serve the City in Brussels in 2015 – an event that grew out of the basketball camp of 2005, led by American basketball player Steve Severs. For its 10th birthday Serve the City returned to the sports hall at the Rempart des Moines in the Ste Catherine neighbourhood where it all began. It invited children and youth from the neighbourhood and from different cultures and religions to come together around basketball and friendship and to provede a platform for relationships and dialogue.
